Life has been busy lately. I’m barely surviving this semester. It’s a struggle to get to the end of the 2016, to get through this month, and to finally graduate college.
I can’t remember the last time I had a vacation, or the last time I had a meal with my childhood friends. During the earlier college days, I saw them at least thrice a week! Now, I can barely make it to birthday celebrations.
I don’t want to crash and burn, so I’m training myself to take more breaks and to be more intentional with self-care. “Self-care” doesn’t always mean spending money on yourself. (One of my favorite self-care activities is simply watching The Office with my family or doing a few hours of digital detox.)
However, I’d be lying if I said I don’t enjoy splurging on myself: going to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, having my hair and nails done, getting a massage, or shopping! I’m usually very goal-oriented when I shop. I shop only twice or thrice a year, and I head to the mall with a specific checklist of well-researched products. That’s probably why I’ve never been to a fashion dash before. (You can’t go to a fashion dash with a checklist!)
I was invited by the UP Diliman Economics Society to attend ICONIC: Clothing Bazaar and Fashion Dash. They have a bazaar from November 15 to 19, 2016 at UP Technohub. On November 19, they would have two rounds of their fashion dash. The first one would be at 4:00 pm, followed by a second run at 5:00 pm. The fashion dash costs 1,000 pesos per person.
For those who aren’t familiar with a fashion dash, think of it as a buffet of clothes. You’re given a ziplock, and you take home whatever you could fit into that ziplock within fifteen minutes.
I don’t know yet what items will be available in the fashion dash, but I heard they have local brands there! That’s what I’m looking forward to the most.
For students who want to de-stress or to do some Christmas shopping, you could reserve your tickets now for the FASHION DASH on November 19 at http://tinyurl.com/IconicTickets.
Thank you to UP Economics Society for inviting me to your event! See you soon.
