Rebecca Lee (李美琪) is a Chinese-Filipino blogger who enjoys featuring social enterprises and homegrown brands. She is an adventurer who hopes to be driven by the compass, not by the clock.

She’s interested in books, magazines, writing, photography, videography, and the online media. Most of all, she’s interested in the stories told through these forms.

She currently writes for When in Manila. com, where is a Senior Columnist, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer, where she is a Student Correspondent for the weekly section 2bU.

She is a work in progress and a Broadcast Communication student from UP Diliman.

She loves to interact, learn, and collaborate with others. Connect with her @leerebecca_com on Instagram and Twitter or through ask.fm.

About the Passion Project

After landing gigs and projects in my favorite publications, I felt the need to have my own little home online. I used to have a personal blog as early as 2010, but most of the posts were set in private. This blog is a bridge between that personal blog and my public work.

Most of the things I write on this blog revolve around two things. First, my favorite social enterprises and homegrown brands. Second, my favorite texts (including books, magazines, blog posts, and even personal experiences) and my reflections on them.

I write them usually to help me process everything, but I hope my readers would benefit form them, too.

Simply put, this is a home for the different things I’m passionate about.

About The Saturday Series

The Saturday Series will be home to new content released every first and last Saturday of the month.

It would contain brief reflections, reviews, or creative outputs based on the favorite texts I’ve encountered. Rarely any fancy shoots or promos–just honest attempts to purposefully slow down, reflect, and muster enough meaning and energy for the upcoming weeks.

I do this to force myself to become more reflexive. In an era of information overload, I find the need to create an output just to process and absorb the information that was fed to me. Otherwise, any information would be lost to me; I wouldn’t be abel to apply it to my life, anyway.

About #PassionProducts

Writing about homegrown brands and social enterprises is something I envision myself doing until I grow old. It brings me so much fulfillment and joy to collaborate with brands that are as creative as they are compassionate. I’d like to do this more often after I graduate. But for now, I’m featuring one brand every two months.

Speaking Engagements

I’ve given talks to hundreds of high school and college students, usually on blogging, social media, feature writing, and pursuing your passion. This is a list of events where I was a speaker.
